4. Right to Consent

Patients must give informed consent before any medical intervention. They also have the right to refuse treatment or procedures they do not approve of.

5. Right to Refuse or Withdraw Treatment

Patients have the right to refuse or stop treatment even against medical advice, after being informed of the possible consequences.

6. Right to Safety

Every patient has the right to receive healthcare in a safe environment and to be protected from any form of abuse or harm.

7. Right to Religious and Spiritual Support

Patients have the right to practice their religion and receive spiritual support, provided it does not interfere with medical care.

8. Right to Visitors and Companions

Patients have the right to receive visitors and be accompanied by a companion in accordance with the institution’s policies.

9. Right to File Complaints and Legal Action

Patients have the right to lodge complaints and take legal action regarding unsatisfactory healthcare experiences. Such complaints must be evaluated and addressed by the healthcare institution.

10. Right to Choose Healthcare Providers

Patients have the right to choose or change their healthcare institution or doctor, and to be informed about the people providing their care.
